Is the Mind Material? Two Philosophers Debate

Is the Mind purely material, or do we need some non-material principle to make sense of mental activity? Dr. Phil Woodward and Dr. Steve Petersen are professors of Philosophy at Niagara University. They take opposite positions on the question, which they regularly debate in a co-taught class on Philosophy of Mind. The Nickel City Forum is a public intellectual series in Buffalo, New York. We think a good argument with some good friends can go a long way.
